Al Fenton Big Band, a well-renowned Jazz Band, is made up of a talented team of creative musicians. Based in West Hartford, they have a storied history of live performances, musical arrangements, and just finished a professional recording session. They pride themselves on their technical abilities and musical versatility, breaking boundaries with their unique sound. Honoring and Advancing the Big-Band Jazz Tradition Founded in 2001 by its namesake, the mission of the Al Fenton Big Band, from the very start, was to perform music from the “Golden Era of Swing” alongside more modern big-band arrangements of contemporary tunes. That mixed repertoire has always made the music of the Al Fenton Big Band appeal to young, old, and in-between alike. Al has retired from the band, but his original mission and vision continue to thrive today under the capable direction of bandleader Kathy Neri. Under Kathy’s leadership, the group of 19 accomplished and dedicated jazz musicians continues to perform throughout Connecticut to wide acclaim. Whether it’s a party, dance, wedding, town-fair, formal performance, or other gathering, the Al Fenton Big Band promises to make your event both joyful and memorable Explore the site and learn more about the musicians behind the music.
